| The
Fifth Night Weekly Radio Program
A
weekly presentation of a Fifth Night reading, edited down and cut
together with interviews. A sample show could follow a script from
inception, through the casting, editing, and rehearsal processes.
Another show might include audience feedback and green room tid-bits.
Shows may also provide updates on the course a screenplay by a past
writer has taken since its Fifth Night reading; perhaps highlighting
the struggle writers face to get them turned into films. Every show
will present a comprehensible version of a single script, plus insights
from a variety of people in the filmmaking process we seldom hear
from including: directors of development, script editors, casting
directors, agents, and literary managers. We will also go into the
backrooms with the industry executives that struggling filmmakers
are dying to meet with. The show will be both an informative event
for the industry, and an entertaining ride for film buffs. With
each new episode,
we’ll show the audience that every script has its own story.
We are currently fine-tuning our radio program. As of now we do
not have audio clips available on the website. Please check back
with us soon, as excerpts will be available shortly. The pilot episode
for the series, Mothers & Monarchs, is by playwright Anastasia
Traina, with a cast that includes Louise Lasser, Lorraine Bracco,
Polly Draper, and Scott Cohen.
